What is a 99th percentile GMAT score?

A 99th percentile GMAT score means that for every 100 candidates that appear for the GMAT exam, one is ahead of 99 of them. In order to obtain the 99th percentile score, one has to score 750 or higher on the exam. GMAT does not give provide a sub-division of the percentiles, hence all scores of 750 or higher falll within the 99th percentile.
